Turkish Airlines recorded strong growth in its cargo business in December 2025, reflecting continued demand for air freight across its global network.

The airline carried 192,400 tonnes of cargo and mail during the month, an increase of 15.9% compared with December 2024. Turkish Airlines said the growth was supported by expanded capacity and sustained demand on international routes.

Overall passenger and cargo capacity, measured in available seat kilometres, rose by 9.2% year on year in December to 23.3 billion, providing additional bellyhold space for freight operations.

For the full year, Turkish Airlines’ cargo and mail volumes increased by 8.4%, reaching a total of 2.2 million tonnes, up from 2 million tonnes in 2024. The airline said cargo demand remained resilient throughout the year, supported by global trade flows and the strength of its Istanbul hub.

Turkish Airlines continued to expand its network and fleet in 2025, ending the year with 516 aircraft. The airline operates one of the world’s largest route networks, which it says remains a key advantage for time-sensitive and long-haul cargo movements.

The airline also reported overall passenger growth during the year, with total traffic rising to 92.6 million passengers. However, cargo performance remained a key contributor to revenue and network utilisation, particularly on long-haul services.

The figures include consolidated results from Turkish Airlines’ main brand and its low-cost subsidiary, AJet.
