E-commerce delivery company SpeedX has launched a major new hub near Chicago O’Hare International Airport, significantly expanding its last-mile delivery and logistics footprint in the US.

Following its acquisition of freight forwarder Accelerated Global Solutions (AGS) last year, the company said the newly opened 200,000-sq-ft hub supports its ability to handle up to one million parcels per day.

“Chicago plays a critical role as both an international air gateway and a key centre for US e-commerce and freight,” said SpeedX founder and chief executive Chris Zheng. “This investment gives us greater operational control while boosting the speed and reliability of our network.

“The hub is also core to our long-term plan to link SpeedX facilities nationwide through a transcontinental linehaul system, creating a stronger and more scalable delivery platform.”

The Chicago facility is equipped with automated sorting technology, including a chute system capable of handling up to 30,000 parcels per hour.

Additional dock doors and expanded floor space allow the hub to manage both parcel volumes and freight movements more efficiently.

Founded in 2022, SpeedX offers a delivery experience designed to better connect brands to customers. This new superhub marks another step in its rapid US expansion.

Currently SpeedX covers over 12,000 zip codes, has delivered 100 million parcels, and reaches 175 million people.
