Raya Airways has announced a significant expansion of its Kuala Lumpur–Zhengzhou (KUL–CGO) cargo route, increasing service to six flights per week in a move that strengthens its role within China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

The expansion follows a meeting with representatives from China Henan Aviation Group and China Logistics Group Global Express Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., reaffirming the strategic importance of the route under the Air Silk Road framework.

First launched in September 2024 with three weekly flights, the Zhengzhou route has rapidly grown into a crucial corridor for cross-border e-commerce.

The added frequency aims to meet soaring demand and facilitate deeper trade ties between Malaysia and China—one of Malaysia’s largest trading partners.

Mohamad Najib Ishak, group managing director of Raya Airways said: “This isn’t just about additional flights—it’s a reflection of growing bilateral trade and our commitment to supporting that with reliable cargo solutions.

At the core of this expansion is the airline’s collaboration with Malaysian freight forwarder Balance Freight Sdn. Bhd., which has been instrumental in ensuring the efficiency and scalability of the CGO operations.

“We deeply value our partnership with Balance Freight,” Najib added. “Their expertise ensures we can offer seamless logistics that support the evolving needs of regional businesses.”
