Chris Notter started as a Customs Officer and then went into freight forwarding, before entering the airline side of the business and spending almost 29 years with German carrier Lufthansa. Notter has held other senior industry roles including Vice President Cargo Operations at Qatar Airways and he was also previously Vice President Operations. Notter then moved onto his current role as Chief Ground Handling Officer at Saudi Airlines Cargo after joining the airline in 2014. He now currently holds various consultancy roles.

An award-winning former journalist and editor, Emma is an accredited member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (MCIPR) and co-founder of Women in Aviation and Logistics, a global initiative tackling gender imbalance in the sector. Before moving into journalism, she worked as an archaeologist in Syria and Jordan and was once an English teacher.

Shanmugam Thangavelu (“Shane”) is the Client Account Lead for Accenture Cargo, where he focuses on expanding Accenture’s cargo market-intelligence, forecasting, and optimization offerings across the global air cargo and logistics ecosystem. He works closely with airlines, freight forwarders, airports, integrators, and logistics stakeholders on cargo strategy, network and fleet optimization, market intelligence, and data-driven transformation initiatives. His work spans areas such as trade-lane analysis, forecasting and nowcasting, capacity intelligence, cargo analytics, and commercial growth strategy. Shane has represented Accenture Cargo across multiple aviation and cargo industry forums and actively contributes to discussions around cargo market evolution, operational resilience, digital transformation, and the increasing role of data and analytics in cargo decision-making. At Accenture Cargo, he is also driving broader market visibility initiatives through industry engagement, external publications, strategic partnerships, and thought leadership-led client outreach.

Kendy Choi previously joined Cainiao Network, the logistics arm of the Alibaba Group, in 2020 as Senior Manager Cargo Business Development. Part of the core team that launched phase I (2021) of Alibaba Smart Hub Belgium, she engaged airlines and associated partners into the European eHub connecting to worldwide airports, offering an innovative data platform which drives performance and visibility, enabling end-to-end solutions, making it easy doing business everywhere. In her previous role, Kendy worked for AirBridgeCargo and was responsible for the establishment of the Belgium branch, managing the cargo revenue operations of Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland with a passion for pharma, live animals and XL cargo handling.

He has a proven record of successful startup financing, mergers and acquisitions, and growth management. Dawit is also dedicated to team building and talent development, believing in teamwork and channeling human capital. He serves on several boards, including the Ethiopian Freight Forwarders & Shipping Agents Association and the Ethiopian Management Professionals Association. Dawit has received numerous certificates and awards for his professional achievements and holds an MBA in Leadership and Entrepreneurship.

James Hookham is Secretary General and a Director of the Global Shippers Forum (GSF), the voice of cargo owners in international supply chains, based in London. He is a graduate in Environmental Science from the University of Bradford and completed a master’s degree in the safe transport of dangerous goods at the University of Manchester. James early career was spent with Exis Technologies (now part of National Cargo Bureau) developing the world’s first remotely accessible computerised dangerous goods database. He later served as deputy editor of Hazardous Cargo Bulletin. Until 2020 James was also Deputy Chief Executive of the Freight Transport Association (now Logistics UK) serving the needs of transport users and providers in the United Kingdom and served on numerous UK, EU and global transport and logistics advisory bodies.
