Ontario International Airport (ONT) reported a 6.8% increase in total air cargo volume for February 2025, driven primarily by a sharp surge in mail shipments, which grew by an impressive 276% compared to the same month last year.
While freight shipments for the month saw a decline of 6.1%, the strong performance in mail helped lift the overall cargo figures.
Year-to-date, combined freight and mail volumes rose by 6.7%, underscoring the airport’s growing role as a key cargo hub.
Atif Elkadi, CEO of Ontario International Airport Authority said: “Ontario prides itself on first-rate cargo facilities and operational excellence, which makes our Inland Empire airport a hub of choice for cargo shippers.”
