Mammoth Freighters and Aspire MRO have completed the fifth installation of a main deck cargo door on a Boeing 777 passenger-to-freighter conversion, as work continues to accelerate across their joint programme.
The Texas-based partnership now has seven aircraft in various stages of production, highlighting the growing demand for 777 passenger-to-freighter conversions amid strong widebody cargo market interest.
The latest milestone underscores the companies’ progress in scaling up modification capacity for the Mammoth 777-200LR and 777-300ER Special Freighter programmes, which are designed to extend the lifespan of retired passenger aircraft while providing airlines and lessors with modern, high-capacity cargo aircraft.
Aspire MRO, based in Fort Worth, serves as Mammoth’s exclusive conversion partner and provides heavy maintenance, engineering and modification services.
The two firms say demand for large twinjet freighters remains resilient, with the 777 freighter platform particularly attractive for operators seeking high payload and range capabilities.
