South Korean logistics group Hanjin has opened a new European fulfilment centre in Amsterdam, strengthening its services for companies looking to expand into the European market.

The company said the facility will provide end-to-end logistics support for Korea-based businesses targeting customers across Europe.

Completed in October, the centre is located around 10 minutes from Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport and about an hour from the Port of Rotterdam, one of Europe’s busiest shipping hubs.

Hanjin said the site has been designed to support multimodal transport, linking air and sea freight to improve delivery speed and efficiency.

The Amsterdam centre will operate as a hybrid hub, handling both business-to-business and business-to-consumer shipments. It is equipped to manage large-scale cargo storage as well as direct deliveries to local customers.

Customers will be offered a wide range of services, including packaging and labelling that meet the requirements of global online platforms such as Amazon and TikTok, as well as support for local retail channels. Hanjin will also provide order management and last-mile delivery services across Europe.

The company said it would help businesses navigate complex customs clearance and value-added tax requirements, often seen as major obstacles to entering European markets.

Additional services include support with local company set-up, tax filings and compliance with regional regulations.

Following the launch, Hanjin plans to expand the centre’s role by developing linked services such as air freight connections to South Korea and transatlantic routes.

The aim is to build an integrated logistics network connecting Europe with Los Angeles, Incheon and other key hubs in Hanjin’s global operations.

The opening ceremony was held on 15 January, attended by Hanjin president Cho Hyun-min and chief executive Noh Sam-seok, alongside local officials.
