Georgian cargo carrier Geosky Airlines has launched flights between Tbilisi and Chongqing, marking its latest step in international expansion.

The inaugural service from Tbilisi International Airport to Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport took place on 13 September, the airline confirmed. Operated with a Boeing 767-300 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF), the flight was completed on behalf of COSCO Shipping Airfreight under a fixed-charter arrangement.

Geosky, which provides cargo charter and ACMI services, operates a fleet of six converted freighters: one Boeing 747-200, one Boeing 757, and four Boeing 767-300s. Its newest 767, leased from Airborne Capital, joined the fleet in July.

The Tbilisi-based carrier is steadily building its widebody capacity to support growth across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Earlier this year, Geosky also operated flights for CN Logistics between China’s Ezhou Huahu Airport and Milan Malpensa in Italy.

The airline described the new Chongqing route as a “significant step” in broadening its footprint in Asia’s fast-growing air cargo market.
