Emirates to add third daily Nairobi service as cargo demand strengthens

Emirates

Emirates will introduce a third daily flight to Nairobi from 1 March 2026, expanding capacity on the route as the airline marks 30 years of operations in Kenya.

The additional frequency will increase the Kenyan capital’s connectivity to 21 Emirates flights per week, reflecting rising demand for both passenger and cargo services. The move further strengthens the Gulf carrier’s long-standing presence in East Africa.

Emirates SkyCargo, the airline’s freight arm, continues to play a central role in Kenya’s global trade links. The division already operates three weekly freighter services into Nairobi, alongside bellyhold capacity on passenger aircraft.

With the upcoming third daily passenger flight, Emirates will offer more than 1,100 tonnes of weekly cargo capacity into and out of the market.

The expanded schedule is expected to support Kenya’s exports—including perishables such as fresh flowers, fruit and vegetables—while enhancing import flows of pharmaceuticals, electronics and manufacturing materials.

The airline said the boost in flights underpins its commitment to the Kenyan market and responds to growing demand across tourism, business travel and international freight.
